MidiMaster Karaoke Because MIDIMaster uses .mid and .kar files for accompaniment, rather than less flexible .wav or .mp3 files, you can customize the music for your singing style, adjusting the tempo, key, instrumentation, and more. Do you want to practice with the melody line until you've got it down, then shut it off for performance? MIDIMaster can do that! And best of all, MIDIMaster's new performance feature lets you record your performance and play it back - what better way to learn than to hear it from the audience's point of view? You can even add an echo to get that rock-star sound quality. And MIDIMaster Karaoke displays lyrics (when present) in a customizable window, in fonts and colors you choose. Each word is highlighted in time to the melody so you can follow along.

We welcome recommendations or reviews of
any midi-making software. Send yours using the contact links at the site .
From Thor C. Arisland:
I was going through your midi site and saw on the midi software site that
you only seemed to have commercial music software for writing midi, and
I'd
just think it would be nice for you to know that Anvil Studio is a
completely free midi writing tool which I have experienced as a very useful
program, it seems to be rather popular among others as well, and I'd say
the
quality of the program is very good too (some freeware programs can be
rather amateuristish at times) and maybe you should add this to your list
of
programs for composing midi files...
From Evelyn:
Noteworthy Composer is an inexpensive program that is
very easy to use. It's only major drawback is that
there is not a Mac version (Windows only)
I've used this program for 4 years, and have used
other programs on other peoples computers. Noteworthy
is a wonderful program at a wonderful price.
One of the best things about the program is the tons
of support from the company and the users. There is a
hints board at the website and one major user website. http://www.noteworthysoftware.com/ Available for $39, there is a 30 day trial period.
From long-time midi/music-maker Peter E. Morgan:
" I feel I should point you to the website of the makers of Harmony Assistant and Melody Assistant, a couple of fine midi editing and writing pieces of software for Windows or Mac. Their website is: http://www.myriad-online.com/enindex.htm It is cheap shareware that is more powerful than some of the commercial packages I have used. I have been using the software for approximately 4-5
years."
